I finally cracked the 100,000 MPW
60 milliwatt QSO to Finland = 139,050 MPW
A few weeks ago I was rummaging around in a few old boxes and I found a bunch of logbooks and QSL cards from back in the 90's. Looking thru them and being an avid QRPer way back then (crikey.. that's nearly 30 years ago now) I found a bunch of QSL cards and also contacts in my old logbooks which would qualify for the 1000 MPW award. (QRPp and QRPpp).
Looking further into all these QRPp DX contacts I made back then, I figured the solar cycle must have been at or near maximum. Jumping online and doing a bit of a search looking back thru the records, I found that back when I was making all these QRPp DX contacts, we were nearly at solar minimum. (What !!) It just proved to me that over the years when people say that at solar minimum, the top bands shutdown as does DXing ...hmmm.. well maybe not. I mean here we are at solar Maximum and the bands are hopeless.
So I wrote to Preston (QRPARCI) and sending in the application, copy of the logbook and all the other paraphernalia, this arrived today.
